Whilst X-Press owners are still conducting online ‘business as usual’ with clients during the coronavirus pandemic, many have also been able to turn their attention to supporting their local communities.
Instead of giving clients their usual gift of Easter eggs this year, X-Press Legal Services in Birchwood decided that they should instead be re-routed and donated to Warrington Hospital for the staff and their patients to enjoy. Clients were all delighted that the chocolates were donated to such a worthy cause.
Sam Dennis, Account Manager at the X-Press office in Birchwood, delivered large boxes of chocolates to the Community and Volunteer Hub at Warrington Hospital. The hub has been set up as a place where donations can be dropped off, they are then packed into parcels and delivered to the amazing staff as well as to patients who have been discharged from the hospital.
In South Gloucestershire, X-Press owner Linda Mannion also usually makes Easter boxes as a gift for her clients but due to current social distancing measures and the fact Linda would normally hand deliver the gifts, this was not possible.
Instead Linda, along with her neighbour Jane Godden who works in the Intensive Care Unit at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, decided to donate the 35 chocolate boxes to hospital staff.
Linda bought brand new egg boxes and filled them full of chocolate eggs while Jane distributed them amongst the staff.
Lynne Lister, Managing Director said: “Gifting chocolates to our clients every Easter is a time-honoured tradition of ours, but as we are unable to personally deliver them as we would normally do, it seemed fitting to donate them to our local hospitals.
“We knew our clients would be in full support and we were all really touched by what they said. One client said ‘That’s a great idea, but all I want is to be able to meet up with you all again’ which we felt really summed up how we are all feeling.
“We are thrilled to have donated them to our local hospitals. This is just one of the ways we are able to say thank you for the amazing work the NHS staff are doing each and every day.”
